fwiw, I’m a loan officer who is 1099′d. I am currently undergoing an audit for the years of 2004 and 2005. i have probably paid my cpa in the neighboorhood of $3,000 dollars thus far and i was just curious if I could write off this money as a business expense, or in some other way.

I want to get a license in the state of Minnesota, I have not been convicted of a felony but was arrested for one. I have several misdemeanors on my record, I want to know if that will disqualify me from taking the CPA exam.

I am in the WI National Guard and have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. I am planning on taking the CPA exam this summer, but would like to use the military benefits for it if they exist— I know they offer like C++ certification and CLEP exams for free and stuff like that….

I live in California but would like to live in New York. In which of those reciprocal states is the easiest and fastest to obtain? Is the CPA in CA hard? I’ve heard that in Maine you only need a bachelors. Is this true? I have a bachelors in Finance and took 2 accounting classes. I have no experience.

After I graduate, or during my senior year, are there any job opportunities in bookkeeping and accounting jobs available without the CPA requirement? I will eventually study for the CPA for 6 months to 1 year, and take the test. And I should move forward to look for something matching my work experience, and my degree in BS in Business Administration(options in Accounting and Information Technology Management).

I am in the military and will be deploying very shortly. I am a victim of the stop loss meaning my enlistment in the army has been involuntarily extended. As soon as I redploy I will be released from active duty. I have already completed y MPA and meet all requirements to sit for the exam. I would like to take the CPA exam while I am deployed. That way I am prepared for when the Army finally releases its hold on me. Are there any states that premit you to take a proctored exam overseas?
